A BUSY OCTOBER

Wow, it’s been a while, hasn’t it? I hope that everyone’s life is going well. I want to thank all of you who took the time to comment and also to apologize for waiting so long to post. I can’t believe that it’s almost October, but I’ll be thankful when the cooler weather moves in. I’ll try to catch everyone up on what’s been happening in my world.

My Wicked Vampire hits the shelves today. It’s the fourth book in the Castle of Dark Dreams series. I want you to know that I chose the Castle of Dark Dreams as my setting because of all the people who responded to a question I asked on an earlier blog. More people seemed to want my next Ganymede and Sparkle book to be set at the castle, so here it is.

Right now I’m working on my next Gods of the Night book. I still haven’t chosen a title. I’m in the process of gathering together all the great titles that you guys suggested on Myspace and taking a good long look at them. This book is Utah’s story. And our heroine is Lia. We met her for the first time in Eternal Craving. What could be better conflict than a hero who hates vampires and a woman who leads them? By the way, with the soon-to-be released mega movie 2012, the Mayan calendar will be on everyone’s radar. Let’s hear it for the Mayan calendar. Hmm, do you think Steven Spielberg would be interested in a concept that merges Jurassic Park with 2012? I guess not. Sigh.

I’m about to remodel my condo. My designer must think that I was a crow in a past life. I keep choosing bright and shiny things. I’m using glass tiles for my walk-in shower, and whenever she suggests something a little less…sparkly, I ignore her. But at least she’s been able to restrain me to the point that I’ll have neutral paint on the walls. By the way, has anyone ever used glass tiles in their shower? How did they hold up?

As much as I’m anticipating my new-look condo, I’m not looking forward to moving out while the work is being done. The same friend (Gerry Bartlett-Real Vampires Have Curves series) who gave me a place to stay after Ike will again allow Abby and me to park at her home. How far can you stretch friendship before it snaps? But since we both have deadlines, maybe we can nag each other into getting moving on our books.

I have a few events planned for October. I’ll mention them here, but I’ll also post them on my home page and send out a bulletin on Myspace the day before they happen. October 7: chat at FF&P (8:00PM-9:00PM EST). This is the Fantasy, Futuristic & Paranormal chapter of RWA. If you’re a member, stop by. October 20: blog at Fresh Fiction http://FreshFiction.com/blog. October 31: blog at Borders True Romance http://bordersblog.com/trueromance. And yes, there will be prizes. I’m still trying to decide what to blog about. Any burning topics you’d like to see discussed?

If you haven’t seen the My Wicked Vampire video, take a look at it on YouTube. It will also be up on my home page in a few days. I don’t know where they found that guy’s torso, but wow, just wow.

Take care and thanks for all of your support. I truly appreciate it.

  1. I love the “Gods of the Night” series and am waiting for the third book. No rush…. I have read all 19 books from the “Dark” series. They are the ones that got me started on the series books. I have read quite a few of your series and love them all! I wanted to thank you for being such a wonderful writer and helping me escape the world for a little while. :) Please keep up the good work! I haven’t read a book I didn’t like of yours.

  2. I was both surprised and extremely happy to see your new book My Wicked Vampire in my local Wal-mart today. And out of all the authors I have read, you by far are one of the funniest and quirkiest in the sense of the characters that you write. Your work helps to inspire me when I am working on my own novels to sometimes find a balance between the intense emotions of sexual attraction and love, and humor.

  6. First I love all of your series nd your books. I am glad you are working on your Gods of Night series because they are really really good.

I normally do not respond to updates on websites but I know some people that have glass tile in there showers. From what I know it looks great but make sure that you keep it clean because it shows soap residue quickly. Also you should check out these little tile accents that go in between tiles that add a little pizazz. I am not sure where you get them but I am sure your designer will know. They are really cool and inexpensive.

  7. PLEASE DON’T PAIR EDGE OFF! We girls need a single sexy hero to lust after and they don’t come sexier than Edge. I know this sounds silly, but once a regular character whom I find drool worthy sexy has a woman matched to him, I can’t fantasize about him anymore because it just feels wrong. I know, I got an over developed sense of morals! It’s why I love Ganymede but I never lust after him, he’s Sparkle’s man. Please let me keep my little crush on Edge just a little longer. It’s been a while since I let my imagination free (I’m an accountant, not much imagination to begin with) to daydream about sexy fictional males.

PS: Love your books, I’m totally hooked and run out to buy a copy for every new one hot off the press.

  9. Utah and Lia..hmmm…could be interesting. Not to be a spoiler but do you think Q and Neva will ever hook up? He seemed a little bummed that she chose Macario over him in the first book but something tells me it is not the last we’ll see of her. Here’s a title suggestion if you haven’t gotten one already…”Eternal Thirst”

  10. I never thought I would love Vampire books, but I’m totally hocked now and love the MacKenzie Series. Hope you have another one coming soon!!!!
About the glass tiles in the shower…I tiled ours with 1″ ones and it held up good. Only one cracked when we dropped something. Just have to be careful, because they are lot more slippery then other floor tiles!!
