My Yearly Post

Okay, I apologize. I’ve abandoned all those who’ve taken the time to make a comment here. But I’ve always had good intentions. At least once a week I’d say, “Hmm, maybe I need to do the blog thing more often.” What really got my behind moving were a few snarkly comments from friends gently pointing out that I “never” blog. So to prove them wrong I ran over here and discovered that…I never blog. Imagine my horror when I realized I hadn’t blogged since February. Ack! Worse yet, I found a bunch of wonderful comments trapped in my spam filter. Like the filter didn’t know the difference between “buy excellent penis enlarger” and “I love your books?” Give me a break. Anyway, after wading through endless pharmaceutical and related sludge (my favorite: Your site is very cognitive. I think you will have good future. Followed by about fifty links.) I’m actually posting.

Here’s a random sampling of what’s happening in my life right now. I’m frantically trying to finish my next Woo Woo Inn book, ONE BITE STAND, on time. Yeah, like that will happen. I’ve agreed to write four more Woo Woo Inn books for Dorchester, so the New Jersey Pine Barrens won’t be rid of me anytime soon. I went to the Romantic Times Convention in Houston and had a blast. I met some wonderful people and renewed my creative juices. After being closeted with just my computer day after day, it’s great to meet real live readers. I’ll also be attending the Romance Writers of America Conference in Dallas (July) with my long-time critique partners Kimberly Raye (DEAD END DATING series), Gerry Bartlett (REAL VAMPIRES HAVE CURVES series), and Donna Maloy (close to a YA sale with her LEGEND OF THE FOX series). There, now they can’t whine about me never saying anything nice about them.

What I’ve been reading? After inhaling all of Jim Butcher’s Dresden Files books I chowed down on Tanya Huff’s Blood series. I love the TV show. Hope they renew it. Recent reads include: Lynn Viehl’s NIGHT LOST (dark and delicious), Stephanie Rowe’s HE LOVES ME, HE LOVES ME HOT (her take on Satan is a hoot), and Charlaine Harris’s ALL TOGETHER DEAD (still love Eric the most). I have a mile-high TBR pile, but I’m still looking forward to a bunch of books in June. At the top of my list are: UNDEAD AND UNEASY by MaryJanice Davidson, THE HARLEQUIN by Laurell K. Hamilton, and MASTER OF DRAGONS by Angela Knight. I’m thinking about picking up Lara Adrian’s new series. Any buzz out there?

Since I get so many comments about Ganymede and Sparkle Stardust, I’ve given them their own page on Myspace. You can find them at: http://www.myspace.com/ninabangs

And finally, I’d like to say a big fat thank you to everyone who bought my May release, WICKED FANTASY. Love ya.

Take care and fill me in on any great books you read.

Nina

  1. Nina, I just wanted to let you know that I love your books. I actually first read The Pleasure Master when I borrowed it from my Mother-in-law! My husband is purchasing every last one of your books for me for our wedding anniversary. I can’t wait for your next Woo Woo Inn books!

    Be safe, and God bless!

  3. Nina,
I’m new to reading your books and I’m in love. :) You asked for buzz on Lara Adrian’s series. If you like very passionate and emotionally charged books, then you like the crimson series. Lara Adrian’s books are similar to JR Ward. I can’t wait to read more of your novels and thanks for writing stories that take me to a special place in my mind.
    Blessings on your wonderful writing.

  6. Woot! It’s NINA!!!!!
    LOL
    Glad to see an update.
Oooh, you are gonna LOVE The Harlequin by LKH. I stayed up until 4:30AM reading it. Not that I wanted to..I so totally lost track of time. *grin*
I blogged about it on a romance community on LJ and a lot of people weighed in. Even those who really didn’t like the last three books, LOVED The Harlequin!! That’s the best news ever!
WEll, no .. the best news is that you’ll be writing more Woo-Woo Inn books. I always recommend you when readers on the board ask for recommendations for paranormal romances. You have a great sense of humor and fun that readers fall in love with.

Wasn’t the latest Harry Dresden book awesome? Had me at the edge of my seat.
And Charlains book? I still like Eric too, but that yummy weretiger…hmmm, what is she going to do now??

Oh, and Master of Dragons? I liked this one MUCH better than the previous one. I think you’ll like it.

Enjoy reading, there are a lot of great books coming out this year … you’re in good company.

Thanks for keeping us fans updated!’
    HUGS!!

  10. I’m very sad to be seeing the Castle series end, but the three books were fantastic. I’m a brand new reader to your work and I must say, I’m very impressed. These books take me to a whole new place. Too bad my husband isn’t a vampire. :) Thank you for taking me to my own little fantasy with the Castle series. I’m a sucker for immortal vampires and warriors. Too bad we’re in modern age. I look forward to reading your other series and keep up the awesome work.

  14. OMG, Nina. I almost peed my pants laughing at the problem with your spam filter. Way funny! I also like LKH, Angela Knight and MJD. Have you read Christine Feehan? She has a great series as well.

Very glad to hear about the new books on the Woo Woo Inn. I will miss Sparkle and Mede so bring them back soon. I am looking forward to hearing about Edge and Rainbow, though. Gonna seem like a long time until your next book comes out but I will be waiting. Bless you!
