Thank heavens I got here first.

I had to race Sparkle to the computer. She wanted to share a new way to enhance everyone’s sensuality. You didn’t want to hear about that, did you? Didn’t think so.

Hmm, now that I’m here I don’t know what to talk about. I’m setting my next Dorchester book, ONE BITE STAND, in Houston instead of the Woo Woo Inn. I think I need a change of scenery. Besides, Sparkle will love the big city. So many more potential victims.

I’m looking forward to next year. Both the Romantic Times and Romance Writers of America conferences will be in Texas. I’ve never gone to both in one year, but I can’t pass either one up when they’ll be so close. So anyone who’ll be going next year give me a shout.

My cat, Abby, is calming down as she matures (thank you, Lord). Next year I’m planning to tear up the carpet and put in wood laminate. She’ll be so sad. She does love to claw the carpet. Abby has the run of most of the condo, but I still won’t let her in my office. Those chewed phone lines remain fresh in my mind. If I ever get the room organized and find a way to protect the cords, I’ll let her in.

I don’t go to many movies, but I’m really looking forward to THE DA VINCI CODE. I can read about blood and gore, but I’m not much into watching it in living color. From what I remember of the book, I’ll be covering my eyes quite a bit.

Anyone been reading any good books they’d like to talk about? I’m open to a discussion. I’m looking forward to Janet Evanovich’s next Stephanie Plum book. It should be out in June. Isn’t that when she usually releases them? I notice that the next Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunter book, DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, is coming out in hardback. Bummer. I won’t have the patience to wait until it comes out in paperback, but I don’t have much room to store hardbacks. It seems that so many of my favorites are being released in hardback now and they’re keepers. I need to have a whole wall of bookshelves built.

Okay, I’ve rambled on long enough tonight. Sparkle has given up and gone out for the night. Whew! Maybe I’ll come up with something really interesting to talk about in the next few nights

Take care,
Nina

  1. Welcome back to posting! As for books, Janet Evanovich’s new Stephanie Plum goes on sale June 20th (according to her website). Can’t wait to read ONE BITE STAND. As for the cords you can get plastic tubing, split it, and then wrap it around your cords.

  2. OH! I LOVE the title, One Bite Stand, that is genius!

Thanks for the update on Abby, I’ve often wondered how she was doing.
Oh NO! SK’s next is a hard cover? Thats too rich for my blood. (it’s Ravyn’s story, isn’t it?) Will have to beg my library to carry it. Did you know that SK’s Lords of Avalon are going to be depicted as comic books? ALL FIVE BOOKS in the series. I am SO excited! Same with LKH’s Anita Blake series. What a cool new wave to ride! Woot!
Wow, I could reply your ears off..um..eyes..but since I have no idea if you’ll even get these entries, I’ll keep things brief. Sooo, where’s your new blog? We Really missed you!!!!!

  3. I just finished A TASTE OF DARKNESS and, of course I loved it. Are you planning a tale about Jor?

I absolutely loved that you brought Eric, Donna, and Taurin from Houston to support Reinn. I love it when authors combine their characters, it gives them so much more life.

Of course, Ganymede and Sparkle Stardust make everything that much more interesting, and hilarious!

I can’t wait for the Da Vinci Code either. It was one of the few books that my husband actually read with me!

I find it so cool that you are into the exact same books that I am. I just finished Katie Mac’s EVEN VAMPIRES GET THE BLUES and all of Sherryln Kenyon’s Dark Hunter books. I can’t wait for DARK SIDE OF THE MOON, but I am a little bummed that it’s coming out in hardcover because I am not going to be able to wait for it to come out in paperback. I am also extremely excited about Janet Evanovich’s 12 SHARP. I read the exerpts on her site and, WOW. There are so many good books coming out this summer that I can’t wait for. I have also been reading Kim Harrison and her FIST FULL OF CHARMS comes out in July. Before that comes there’s Dean Koontz THE HUSBAND, Karen Marie Monings SPELL OF THE HIGHLANDER, Mary Janice Davidson’s UNDEAD AND UNRETURNABLE and, of course, WICKED PLEASURES. You’ve given me two great books to look forward to this year. Thank you for that!

  4. Hi Nina:

With funds and space for hardbacks being limited right now you may have to do what I am going to do when Dark Side of the Moon comes out: read the hardback in the bookstore and purchase the paperback (from the same bookstore!after all they deserve some profit) in October.
