Almost finished my manuscript

Hey, Michele, I agree that my new Oreck is my toy-of-the-day. The problem is that when I was younger my toy might be a hot new guy. Now my toys are new appliances. Anyone find that sad? I guess there comes a time when you have to lower your expectations. I’ll have to stop by your blog and take a look at your pics.

Only a few chapters left in Wicked Pleasure. Today I got involved in one of the things I hate doing. I had to go back through the manuscript, find the places where certain characters appeared, and layer in some dialogue that would agree with what I wrote in Chapter Sixteen. This is where my critique group is so valuable. They find all the little inconsistencies I’ve missed. Bless them.

I’m leaving it at that today. I’ll try to think of something creative to say tomorrow. :)

Oh My! Your 2 comments "toys being a hot new guy" and "toys being new appliances" sent my mind off on a tangent. Combine the two, put the ol’ mind in "naughty" mode and voila! ;) a wonderful new toy to play with…..I just read 9 ebooks of erotica romance this weekend..think it influenced me??? :D

On a serious note…how did you find your critique group in the beginning? How does one start one? Advertise in a local paper? How did you find others of like mind to work with you? I’ve been encouraged to try writing by a few people who visit my blog based on a paranormal experience I wrote about…but it’s hard to stay focused when I’m the only one who has an interest..on ANY level.
I’ve heard mentioned that a critique group can really help. You’ve just re-inforced that idea. Do you wait until you’ve actually got something to critique first before contacting anyone? Hope these questions aren’t so pesky. Oh well, ‘nuf asked.

Next on the agenda…big YEAH! only a few chapters left. Your readers everywhere are rejoicing! I know I am.

My Renfest pics are in a post way below the other pics of 13 Reasons Not to Drink. Just wanted to warn you. Some of THOSE are a little off the wall.

Looking forward to your next creative journey.

  2. My bird and the dog take turns eating our vacuum cleaners. There’s realy no point in getting a decent one. I can’t blame them. House work is evil. They are merely trying to protect me from bad bad things. ;-)

  3. Good luck with finishing that novel!

    (May it be a best-seller ;)

I just put a list of a couple of books on editing(suggested by a top literary agent) on my website: http://shalladeguzman.com/shallaBookEdit.php

    In case you’d be interested…
